The British High Commission has highlighted the role of the Ghanaian diaspora in the UK in strengthening relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
The Head of Communications at the Commission, Ryan Wilson, said initiatives such as December in GH offer opportunities to deepen cultural and people-to-people connections.
He was speaking at the official launch of December in GH 2026 in Accra.

Mr. Wilson said the vibrant Ghanaian community in the UK continues to sustain historical and cultural ties, while tourism remains a key driver of economic growth through job creation and support for local businesses.
He congratulated the Ghana Tourism Authority on the initiative and expressed optimism about Ghana’s appeal as a destination for UK visitors.

This year’s edition, themed “Ghana to the World”, is part of the Black Star Experience and will run from 1 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
It is expected to showcase Ghana’s culture, music, food and heritage to domestic and international visitors.
The launch was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, officials from the Diaspora Affairs Office, the Black Star Experience Secretariat, members of the diplomatic corps and players in the creative arts industry.
